Carson's Story
Carson was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma when he was 9 weeks old. The day he was diagnosed we were told he would be blind and his left eye would have to be removed. We quickly flew out to New York to get a 2nd opinion and it was there that we met Dr. Abramson and his team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Carson was only 11.5 pounds and they felt they could confidently treat him with IntraArterial Chemotherapy surgery procedure. Carson had 3 IA procedures and both of his tumors responded very well to the chemo. He is now about to turn 1 and he has his vision and neither eye had to be removed!
We have a very long road ahead with monthly visits out to New York to keep monitoring the tumors. His vision is improving as time goes on. We are so grateful for his care team in New York and so proud of the fighter we have!
