Dyran's Story

Hello! We are a family from Sweetwater TN battling childhood cancer. Our 5 year old son was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma in April 2023. Since then he has undergone 6 rounds of chemotherapy, a 14 hour surgery to resect the cancerous mass (in which he lost his right adrenal gland and right kidney as well), followed by stem cell transplant in the fall.

The stem cell transplant was really hard on him and he ended up getting a small bowel obstruction that required 4 surgeries to correct in an 2 week period all while he was neutropenic. We spent a month in the ICU and 2 months overall in the hospital (including Halloween ). My son almost died. He has undergone 12 sessions of radiation over Christmas and we are currently doing immunotherapy treatments.

He has had 5 rounds so far and will require 1 more round in the coming months. He just completed another bowel surgery in April to reverse his ileostomy. He’s recovering well from that. Once active treatment is completed this summer he will continue taking an oral chemotherapy pill for atleast a year to try and keep the cancer from returning. He is treated 3 hrs from home at Vanderbilt so travel expenses for weekly visits are extensive.

By buying a sticker, you are directly supporting childhood cancer research through the Rally Foundation.

Your purchase will contribute to the ongoing efforts to develop better treatments with fewer long-term side effects, and ultimately, find cures for young patients like Dyran. Stand with us in this critical cause and help bring hope to children and families battling cancer.
