Levi's Story
Levi was only 2 when he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on August 10, 2022. Him and his parents (Zach and Karli Lansdell) spent many days and nights at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta- Scottish Rite as Levi underwent 5 aggressive rounds of chemotherapy inpatient at the hospital.
The AFLAC unit became their home away home, and mom always made sure to decorate the room with everything Levi loved to make him feel more comfortable. From superhero rooms to a grinch room for Christmas.
If Levi was not in his room, he could be found running the hallways with his superhero cape and mask on, riding his bike, playing in the play room on the unit, or outside at the zone! Staying active and still being a kid as much as possible was a key factor to Levi’s treatment. The nurses, staff, and different organizations like RALLY grew to know and love Levi and became our second family. We celebrated every milestone in treatment, birthdays, and holidays together.
After over 200 days in the hospital Levi got to ring the bell in March of 2023 for completing treatment and officially hitting remission! Levi HULK SMASHED CANCER!!! Levi is now 4 years old and just started Pre-K. He is so happy and healthy!
He is also going to be a big brother any day now! March of 2024 we celebrated a BIG milestone of one year in remission!! Levi is still beating cancer!! Praise God for where our little boy is today and getting us through the toughest battle!! Thank you to our family, friends, & community that always supported us through our cancer journey!
