Kinslee's Story

It became a mystery whenever Kinslee was still developing in the womb that her kidneys were very enlarged. After she was born, we were sent to a kidney doctor and after multiple test, it was determined that she had a tumor on her right kidney known as Wilms Tumor.

Not only did she have a tumor on her right kidney, she also had signs of spots forming on her left kidney, which was very rare. We scheduled an emergency surgery to remove her right kidney and also we were directed to the oncology department.

During all of the appointments we held it together for our almost one year old, but deep down inside our hearts were sinking. We just brought this beautiful baby into the world and she has went through more in just a few months than anyone should in a lifetime.

After meeting with oncology, they made the decision to do 22 weeks of chemotherapy and see how the spots reacted to it. There has been no growth of any of the spots and it has now been 2 years of no chemotherapy. We are still doing check ups and ultrasounds to monitor them and our baby is living a good and healthy life.
