Rally Kid Hudson's Story
Hudson was a normal active 9 year old who had really never been very sick. In June of 2024 it all changed! Hudson hurt his hip which turned out to be broken due to cancer all over his bones. He was diagnosed with high risk neuroblastoma. We were sent to a hospital 3 and a half hours from our home not knowing what any of it meant. We had NEVER heard of that type of cancer…. We learned that his main tumor in his abdomen was the size of a nerf sized football and that he had tumors all over him. How in the world did we not know? We have finally realized there was no way to know and we’ve accepted that now! Fast forward to today and he has had 6 rounds of high dose chemo, tandem stem cell transplants, radiation, surgery for his broken hip, resection of the main tumor, and countless hospital admissions. He is currently doing immunotherapy and we are hoping he is NED after. No one prepares you for this. I’ve learned to say it is what it is a lot this past year. One thing that is certain is these kids are incredibly strong! As an adult I don’t know if I could handle the things they go through. That’s why Hudson’s Facebook page is Hudson Strong cause he is definitely that!!!!
