Rally Kid Eduardo's Story

In 2023, my son Eduardo Ventura Cerpas was diagnosed with Peripheral T-cell Lymphoma at just 7 years old. He went through multiple treatments to prepare for a bone marrow transplant—his greatest chance at survival. Sadly, it was the effects of that transplant that took him from us. But cancer never took Eduardo’s spirit. What helped him through it all was what helped us—family, love, and small joys that made the hardest days more bearable. His laughter, the kind that could fill a room, never faded. He lit up every space he entered. His Nintendo Switch and Fortnite were more than games—they were his escape, his therapy, his fun. Whether battling bosses or building forts, he was just a boy who wanted to laugh, play, and be a kid. And that’s what I remember the most: his laugh. His strength. His smile that refused to dim, even when the world gave him every reason to stop smiling. Eduardo taught me—and everyone who knew him—what it means to be truly strong. To keep going. To find joy, even in pain. And though he is no longer here with us physically, I carry his laugh in my heart every single day. He was my warrior. He is my son. And his light will never go out.
