Rally Kid Madeline Research Fund
In the winter of 2017, Madeline began complaining of arm pain. After a visit to urgent care, she was referred to the emergency department at Scottish Rite. Once the immediate concerns were ruled out, her family was told to follow up if she did not improve. When the pain persisted, her pediatrician referred her to an orthopedist. What initially appeared to be torticollis slowly improved, but doctors ultimately ordered an MRI to be certain. On January 29, 2018, the MRI revealed a tumor wrapped around Madeline’s spinal cord. A biopsy confirmed the diagnosis, and chemotherapy began soon after. Madeline spent many weeks in the rehabilitation unit at Scottish Rite and bravely endured multiple rounds of radiation. Her full treatment plan will span a little over a year, and she continues chemotherapy as she approaches an important next milestone in her care. Madeline’s journey is a reminder of why research matters. Please consider supporting Rally Foundation to help fund research that leads to better treatments, fewer side effects, and ultimately cures. Thank you for standing with Madeline and families like hers.
