Rally Kid Haleigh's Story

At just 2 months old, Haleigh began showing alarming symptoms projectile vomiting, seizures, excessive sleep, loss of appetite, and rapid eye movements. After multiple doctor visits, she was finally admitted for tests. On March 7, 2018, my worst fears were confirmed: doctors found a brain tumor. She was airlifted to Atlanta, where a shunt was placed to drain fluid and a biopsy was performed. Weeks later, the results came. Haleigh had Pilocytic Astrocytoma, a benign tumor that, in her rare case, had spread to her spine. Surgery was too risky because of her age and the tumor’s location in the optic pathway. Treatment was delayed, and for a week I could only stand by her hospital bed, holding her tiny hand through the tubes. Through it all, my faith never wavered. Today, at 6 years old, Haleigh is doing great! She is in school, receiving therapy, learning new things every day, and the tumor is stable. She’s still on her journey and undergoing chemotherapy, but she’s thriving—a living testimony of God’s miracles and strength
