Rally Kid Joseph's Story
In December 2021, we first noticed a lump on Joseph's jawline. As his mother, I sensed that something was wrong—it was more than just allergies. Joseph’s primary doctor initially dismissed my concerns, but after seeking a second opinion, my fears were confirmed. In May 2022, Joseph was diagnosed with stage one Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Thankfully, it was caught early, and he began chemotherapy the following month. Joseph's middle school experience changed in ways we never anticipated. Once a happy child attending school and playing sports, he had to transition to homeschooling with teachers sent by the school district. Chemotherapy was a tough journey for him; he lost all his hair and struggled with weakness and nausea. After chemotherapy, we learned that his tumor hadn't completely disappeared. Joseph then underwent a month of daily radiation treatments. Now in his second year of high school, Joseph is officially out of treatment and embracing life again. He’s discovering new passions through hobbies like weightlifting and participating in various extracurricular activities. We are endlessly grateful for how far he’s come and excited to see where his future takes him.
Your donation will contribute to the ongoing efforts to develop better treatments with fewer long-term side effects, and ultimately, find cures for young patients like Jospeh. Stand with us in this critical cause and help bring hope to children and families battling cancer.
