Rally Kid Kayla's Story
In January of 2013 at age 11 after a CT scan revealed a tumor my entire world changed. I was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma brain tumor, it was cancer. After two different brain surgery’s they were able to remove the tumor completely but I was no were near done. I had 6 weeks of ration to my brain and spine taking my family and I to Jacksonville Florida. After radiation we came back home only to face a year of chemo therapy. Cancer took the most important thing in my life away from me, horses. Finding out I couldn’t ride was the most horrible news in all of the medical mess. But after lots of physical and occupational therapy I was right back in the saddle. Today I am a therapeutic horseback riding instructor, I help kids do what they love and overcome life’s medical obstacles.
