Rally Kid Sadye's Story
If you asked anyone who knew our daughter, Sadye Jade, what they remembered most, they would all give the same answer: her smile. Sadye was just two years old when our world changed forever. Three days after Easter in 2023, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 High-Risk Neuroblastoma. Nothing prepares a parent to hear the words, "Your child has cancer." In an instant, our lives changed from birthday parties, family adventures, and making memories to hospital rooms, scans, surgeries, chemotherapy, and uncertainty. We promised Sadye we would fight beside her every step of the way. For the next two years and sixteen days, that is exactly what we did. Cancer was only one part of Sadye's story. Her siblings were her greatest joy. She loved the ocean, and in her four short years she traveled to 31 states, making memories everywhere she went. She dreamed of becoming a firefighter. She loved Care Bears, big bows, dressing up, giving gifts to others, and making everyone around her smile. She had the brightest blue eyes, an infectious laugh, and a smile that could light up an entire hospital floor. Throughout her battle, Sadye endured 21 cycles of chemotherapy, tumor resection surgery, a bone marrow transplant, proton radiation, immunotherapy, and lengthy hospital stays. Yet through every treatment, every needle stick, every surgery, every setback, and every hospital stay, she never complained. She simply smiled. Just two days before Easter in 2024, we received the heartbreaking news that her cancer had relapsed. Sadye met every obstacle with incredible courage. She never asked, "Why me?" She just kept smiling and kept fighting. On April 28, 2025, while she was still actively undergoing treatment, Sadye passed away at just four years old after fighting Stage 4 High-Risk Neuroblastoma for two years and sixteen days. "Not all superheroes wear capes. Some wear big bows, carry Care Bears, and fight with nothing but a beautiful smile." That was our daughter. Because of her, we founded the Miss Sadye Jade Childhood Cancer Corporation. Our mission is to continue the love, kindness, and joy that Sadye shared with everyone she met by providing Smile Boxes for children battling cancer, hospital care packages, travel assistance for families, and advocating for increased childhood cancer research. Cancer took our daughter, but it never took her smile. Today, that smile lives on through every child we help, every family we support, and every act of kindness done in her memory. Her fight may be over, but her legacy is just beginning.
